Projections of drawings on to Vincent

After looking at the samples we went on to using some of the photos we had take of our drawing and seeing how that translated on the human figure. Some images were more successful then other. I felt the ones with the bright colour were the most successful like the image just above.

Drawing

The drawing day was very successful, there was a real sense of team work between Grace, Lamia, Sophie and I. Creating a drawing based on our samples and the brick work of Manchester, Making us form a variety of different marks on the page. Eventhough, everyone had their own individual style the drawings as a whole worked really well.

Manchester- paint the town red

Manchester is the main bases of your project and as a group we have explored different areas of Manchester. One of our focuses was the old train station ‘Mayfield station’. We tried to get access to and Grace even tried to contact the landlord however he said it was too much of a health and safety risk. I went and had an exploring day out in Manchester and a though it has a lot of differences and character one team was strong throughout this classic red brick. I researched this further and found the most amazing images of this old storm drain in Manchester.  Here are some images shown below.

These images have such rich amazing colours in them I think they would be great to do colour studies from and get a good strong colour palette. The elements of mould and firer red brick it is so interesting.
