During my Foundation Course I feel that I have broken free from the restrictions of A Level Art and Textiles into a more independent environment where I can take different knowledge and skills and channel them into my own interpretation of Textiles. I feel your course ‘Textiles In Practise’ will further my knowledge and skills and offer me the chance to study in surrounding with a ‘rich Textiles heritage’.
I found it very hard just to choose one area to specialise in but from seeing your facilities on the Open Day and your details online I know that you have a ‘flexible and diverse’ course. This is an ideal course for me because I am particularly interested in the transformation, manipulation and experimentation of materials.
Unlike other courses you encourage placement in the professional world of textiles. This will allow me to experience exactly how the industry works, and understand how these creative and commercial organisations function.
